A Note From Pastor Andrew

Our baptism isn’t just a sacrament of God’s renewing grace, but it renews our calling in the world we live. Our next sermon series, “Baptized to Be...” kicks off on Rally Day, August 17. For four weeks, we’ll consider how we are...

“Baptized to Be Family” August 17

Jesus acknowledged that households can be divided by faith, but faith can also bring people together to become a family of God. On Rally Day, we invite families to picnic together after the service and be sure to look for those who may not have a family to celebrate with, as we are all part of the family of God.

“Baptized to Be Nourishing” August 24

Through the prophet Isaiah, God called the people of God to feed the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted. That calling to nourish people in need still stands.

“Baptized to Be Inclusive” August 31

In Jesus' “Parable of the Wedding Banquet,” we are reminded that we are also called to invite all people to the banquet table, not those who we might use for our own advancement, but especially for those who are overlooked in our world.

“Baptized to Be Serving” September 7

In Luke 14:25-33, Jesus calls us to take up our cross and follow Him. We have many crosses to bear. Though serving others can be rewarding, it is not always easy. Therefore, let us not shrink, but grow into the call to serve one another. Before, between, during, and after services, we will be offering a service project right in the hallway of the church to assemble buckets, by filling them with supplies that will be sent across the US in regions

devastated by floods.

There are plenty of opportunities outside of church to fulfill your baptismal calling. Friends and neighbors, even strangers, may need a helping hand or an invitation to talk or be included. May the

Holy Spirit, who lives in each of our hearts, daily move you to see where God might call you.
